Calendering, Continuous Sheet & Molded Sheet Rubber

Reiss Manufacturing has extensive calendering capabilities producing solid silicone sheets in a variety of colors, thicknesses and durometers.

The calendering process allows for sheets to be produced in continuous lengths or cut to size as requested. These rolls can be provided in a cured or uncured state and manufactured onto various fabrics.

Our multiple machines allow us to produce a variety of widths up to 42” usable. When needed, secondary processing provided by our Fabrication department can include cut to length, die-cutting, pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) application, and more.

Calendering FAQs

We calender solid sheets made from silicone, fluorosilicone, Viton® (FKM), and EPDM.

Sheets are produced with precision thicknesses ranging from 0.005″ to 0.250″, with a maximum thickness of 0.250″.

Yes, sheets can be provided in either cured or uncured form, and may be manufactured onto various fabrics.

Yes, calendered materials can be laminated with dissimilar materials such as Teflon®, fiberglass, and others.

Secondary operations include cutting to length, die-cutting, pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) application, and more, all handled by our Fabrication department.

Our calendered sheets have durometer ranges from 10 to 90 Shore A.

Yes, options include high- and low-temperature formulations, electrically conductive EMI/RFI shielding (carbon black–filled sheets), food-grade (FDA CFR 21 177.2600), high strength or low compression set, and oil, fuel, and chemical-resistant formulations.

Yes, it is suitable for production at both small-batch and large-scale levels.
